On November 27, an important sports event took place in the gym of Zhmerinka Lyceum No. 3 — a biathlon masterclass organized by the Biathlon Federation of Ukraine for physical education teachers and students who are actively involved in sports. This event was part of the preparations for the "Shoulder to Shoulder. All-Ukrainian School Leagues" competition.

Representatives from the Vinnytsia region's mass sports management participated in the masterclass, including the head of the management, Vadim Adamchuk, who presented sports equipment to the director of Lyceum No. 3, Tamara Bilan. He expressed gratitude to everyone involved in the preparations for the competition and noted the activity of the Zhmerinka community in developing sports among children.

Familiarization with Biathlon Techniques

The main goal of the masterclass was to promote biathlon, which has been included in the school league program for the first time this year. Participants were introduced to the rules and techniques of the sport. Experts from the Biathlon Federation, Oleksandr Rudenko and Ivan Kuzmenko, conducted training at a high quality level, explaining the rules, safety, and demonstrating biathlon equipment, including shooting with laser and pneumatic rifles.

According to the coordinator of the "Shoulder to Shoulder" project, Olena Hulko, the masterclass not only provided an opportunity to improve the skills of young athletes but also contributed to the implementation of biathlon as a module in physical education classes, broadening their acquaintance with this sport.

Future Plans

In the near future, teams from the Zhmerinka community plan to begin preparations for biathlon competitions that will take place in Vinnytsia in the spring. The masterclass was an important step in developing new directions in school sports and provided participants with invaluable experience under the guidance of professionals.
