Today, February 7, the Winter Olympic Games 2026 kicked off in Milan and Cortina, Italy, where Ukrainian athletes aim to win medals in snowboarding and other sports.

The fierce competition has already begun

As part of the opening day of the competitions, eight representatives of the Ukrainian team will compete in five disciplines. The debut of Ukrainian freestyler Kateryna Kotsar in the slopestyle qualification will be a historic event — our country will be represented in this discipline at the Olympic Games for the first time.

Schedule for Ukrainian performances

The first to take the start will be:

  • Freestyle (slopestyle, women): Kateryna Kotsar (qualification) — 11:30
  • Alpine skiing (downhill, men): Dmytro Shepyuk (final) — 12:30
  • Cross-country skiing (skiathlon, women): A. Nikon, S. Shkatula, Y. Nopriyenko, D. Migal (final) — 14:00
  • Luge (singles, men): Anton Dukach, Andrii Mandzii (1st and 2nd runs) — 18:00
  • Figure skating (team event): Kyrylo Marsak (short program) — 20:45

Where to watch the 2026 Olympics

In Ukraine, live broadcasts of the competitions are provided by “Suspilne Sport”. Fans can follow the performances live on the broadcaster's website, local TV channels, as well as on the Eurosport platform.

In total, 46 Ukrainian athletes will compete in 11 sports at the 2026 Olympic Games. Compared to Beijing 2022, the total number of medal events has increased to 116.
