Large-Scale Missile Strike on Kyiv
On the night of January 9, Russian troops launched a powerful missile attack on Kyiv, resulting in 4 deaths and 25 people injured, including 5 rescue workers.
Attack Details
According to the press service of the State Emergency Service of Kyiv, the Russian army fired over 240 drones and 36 missiles at residential areas and civilian infrastructure of the city. The attack lasted almost five hours.
Attack Consequences
Due to damage to substations, the city experienced disruptions in electricity and water supply. Rescue workers are operating in several city districts, and DSNS psychologists have provided assistance to about 80 people.
Infrastructure Condition
Two thermal power plants (TEC-5 and TEC-6) are temporarily not operational. It is expected that the repair of TEC-5 will take about two days, and TEC-6 - one day. The city is working to restore vital services.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko called on city residents to temporarily leave the capital for their own safety.
