Large-Scale Power Outages Across Ukraine

Ukrenergo reported the introduction of power outage schedules in most regions of Ukraine on December 28. The reason for these restrictions is the consequences of a massive Russian rocket and drone attack on the country's energy infrastructure.

Details of Restrictions

  • Most regions will have hourly disconnection schedules for household consumers
  • Simultaneously, there will be power limitations for industrial enterprises
  • Kyiv and Kyiv region are in the most difficult situation

Ukrenergo emphasized that the situation in the energy system may change. Citizens are recommended to follow updates on official regional energy company pages and use electricity sparingly when available.

Regional Specifics

In particular, in the Dnipropetrovsk region, DTEK has published a strict schedule of rolling blackouts, where the total time without electricity can range from 7 to 16.5 hours depending on the schedule.

In Kyiv and Kyiv region, forced emergency shutdowns continue due to a night attack by Russian drones and missiles, which caused significant damage to the energy infrastructure.
