Today, December 21, 2025, most regions of Ukraine are operating on hourly electricity outage schedules. The company "Ukrenergo" reported that this measure is necessary due to the recent Russian missile-drone attacks on the country's key energy facilities.
According to the statement, the outages will affect not only household consumers but also industrial ones, for whom separate capacity restriction schedules have been developed. Utility organizations and regional energy companies urge consumers to check the current schedule of outages at their place of residence on the official websites of local energy companies.
Situation in the Regions
For example, the company DTEK has published the power outage schedules for today for Kyiv and the Kyiv region. Residents of the capital may be without electricity for up to 10 hours, with outages occurring two to three times a day, depending on the consumer subgroup. In the Kyiv region, outages will last almost 11 hours but also depend on the subgroups.
Residents of the Dnipropetrovsk region should also be prepared for power outages lasting about 13 hours a day with 3-4 breaks in electricity supply.
Another Attack on the Energy System
The situation in the energy sector remains difficult following further attacks by the Russian army on the Ukrainian energy system. Drone attacks on Odesa and massive strikes on infrastructure in other regions of Ukraine have worsened the situation. Mykolaiv and several other localities in the region remain without power due to damage to generation, distribution, and transmission facilities.
Energy specialists emphasize that the situation can change, so citizens are encouraged to follow updates in the telegram channels of regional energy companies and to use electricity sparingly whenever possible.
