On Saturday, December 13, due to the effects of massive Russian attacks on energy facilities across Ukraine, a schedule of stabilization power outages will be in effect. This was reported by the company "Ukrenergo." In particular, in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, electricity will be turned off for extended periods, with information indicating planned outages of up to three periods per day.

Experts point out that, according to the latest forecasts, the lack of electricity may last approximately 12-15 hours per day. Official sources emphasize that energy workers ask consumers to use electricity sparingly and to follow the schedule, as the situation in the energy sector remains complicated.

Reasons for Outages

The primary reason for the imposition of restrictions is the results of Russian missile strikes, which significantly damaged the infrastructure of energy facilities. This limits the possibilities for electricity supply and forces authorities to take such measures to support the energy system.

Schedules for Different Regions

Outage schedules are being planned for all regions of Ukraine, including Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions. In the specified areas, two to three rounds of outages will also be implemented.

The head of "Ukrenergo," Vitalii Zaichenko, emphasized that the introduction of such schedules is a necessary step to ensure stability in the energy system during the winter period.

Economic and Social Impact

Ukrainian MP Oleksii Kucherenko commented that long hours of outages will negatively affect the residents of the capital. The expert's position is that the shortage of electricity is a direct consequence of the war, and reviewing the fairness of the outages is the responsibility of local government bodies.

"The authorities need to better inform the population about the state of affairs with electricity, explaining the reasons for the outages," Kucherenko noted.

The energy situation will remain unstable, and residents of Kyiv should be prepared for "swings" in the schedule, depending on the aggressor's further actions.
