Tomorrow, December 9, in all regions of Ukraine, including Lviv, measures to limit electricity consumption will be applied. The energy system operator "Ukrenergo" confirmed that the hourly outage schedules will be in effect from 00:00 to 23:59, with the number of outages for household consumers ranging from 2 to 4 shifts.

The reason for these measures is the consequences of massive missile and drone attacks that Russian forces have carried out on Ukrainian energy facilities. "Ukrenergo" has already recorded eight serious attacks since the beginning of the year, leading to significant damage to infrastructure.

Situation with Electricity Supply

"Ukrenergo" noted that the volumes of outages may vary, so they urge consumers to monitor updates on the official pages of the energy distribution companies. Additionally, during the attack on December 6, facilities in various regions, including Lviv region, were affected, complicating the situation with electricity supply.

Localization of Outages

  • Outage schedules for the population: from 2 to 4 shifts.
  • Industrial consumers: round-the-clock power limitation schedules are in effect.

Energy workers are actively working on restoring stable electricity supply. At the same time, the head of the Council of the Ukrainian Renewable Energy Association, Stanislav Ignatiev, predicts that the outage schedules may continue throughout the winter, but under an optimistic scenario, they could be canceled in April.

In light of these events, the population is urged to reduce electricity consumption to alleviate the load on the energy system during this crisis.
