As a result of massive rocket shelling and drone attacks carried out by the Russian army, today, November 29, Kyiv and several neighboring regions experienced widespread power outages. Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko stated that energy infrastructure facilities in Kyiv, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava, and Kharkiv regions were affected.

According to official data, more than 500 thousand consumers in the capital are left without electricity, and about 100 thousand in the Kyiv region. 29 people were injured as a result of the attacks, two of whom died. The Prime Minister emphasized that energy workers are already working on restoring electricity supply in those areas where it is possible.

Power Outage Schedules

The National Energy Company "Ukrenergo" has published the power outage schedule for today, noting that restrictions are being imposed due to the consequences of hostile attacks on Ukraine's energy sector. Hourly consumption limits are being introduced in Ukraine from 00:00 to 23:59, ranging from 0.5 to 2.5 shifts.

For residents of Kyiv, according to the schedule, the longest single outage will last up to 3.5 hours. Similar schedules have been approved for the Kyiv region, where the maximum duration of outages can reach 4 hours. "Lvivoblenergo" also reported on restrictions for the Lviv region for today.

Consequences of the Attacks

The attacks by the Russians aimed to damage energy infrastructure, which is undoubtedly a challenge for Ukraine's energy system. It was also previously reported that, assuming there are no new shellings, the outage schedules may be eased.

Yulia Svyrydenko thanked all services working to eliminate the consequences of the strikes and urged citizens to be cautious during this difficult time. "We are working in coordination to assist those affected," she noted in her message.
