US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are preparing for important negotiations in Washington, which may begin this week. The main goal of the meeting will be to discuss the final details of a new 19-point peace plan agreed upon during recent talks in Geneva.

According to the publication "The Telegraph," during the meeting, both leaders may discuss issues such as territorial exchanges and new security relationships between the US, NATO, and Russia. The updated plan has softened the demands on Ukraine; previously, the "peace plan" contained 28 points, but some of them have been set aside for discussion.

Experts say the most sensitive issues that could become stumbling blocks remain at the discretion of the presidents. The Kremlin has already rejected a European counter-proposal regarding the American-Russian plan, indicating the difficulties in reaching a consensus.

An important development has been the inclusion of Marco Rubio, a US Senator, in the negotiation process. His involvement has significantly changed the American approach to interacting with Ukraine. In particular, sources report that with Rubio's arrival, the US has become more open to Ukraine's proposals.

Despite the noted progress, there is low confidence that peace talks could lead to an immediate ceasefire. "We believe that Rubio's involvement in continuing negotiations is of great significance," say representatives of some NATO countries.

It is expected that during the meeting, Trump and Zelensky will also discuss financial support for Ukraine, including an agreement to provide Ukraine with 140 billion euros from frozen Russian assets.

Official comments from both leaders, as well as the results of the negotiations, are still pending publication; however, it is already clear that this meeting could be crucial for the further development of events in Ukraine.
