Today, February 8, at the XXV Winter Olympics in Italy, held in the cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, the medal tally has commenced. On the first day of competition, events in five different sports were held, during which 5 sets of medals were awarded.
Medal Tally Results
Representatives from eight countries received medals. Among the leaders in the medal tally are Italy with three medals (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze), while Japan and Norway also each won three medals.
Performance of the Ukrainian Team
Ukraine is represented by eight athletes in five disciplines. The day's debut event was the slopestyle qualification, featuring freestyle skier Kateryna Koцар, who became the first Ukrainian woman in this discipline at the Olympic Games. Following her was the men’s downhill event, where Dmytro Shepyuk competed for medals.
