Tragic Death of Ukrenergo Board Member Oleksii Brekht at a Substation While Performing Official Duties

Former Acting Chairman of the Board of NEC Ukrenergo, Oleksii Brekht, tragically died due to electric shock while performing professional duties.

Incident Circumstances

According to DTEK, the fatal incident occurred at one of Ukrenergo's substations. The exact causes of death have not yet been disclosed.

Oleksii Brekht's Professional Path

Brekht is a graduate of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" with a specialty in Electric Stations. He began his professional career in 1999 at the Kyiv Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Power Plant.

From 2011 to 2016, he held leadership positions in the company, overseeing technical policy, European integration, and strategic network development.

Appointment and Contribution

After the dismissal of Volodymyr Kudrytskyi from the position of Ukrenergo's head in September 2024, the Supervisory Board appointed Brekht as Acting Chairman of the Board. He led the company in this status from September 5, 2024, to June 30, 2025.
