Ukraine's first racket Elina Svitolina confidently started the 2026 season, winning her first singles match at the WTA 250 tournament in Auckland, New Zealand.
In the first-round match, the Ukrainian tennis player faced France's Varvara Grachova. Svitolina, who is the top seed in the tournament, convincingly defeated her opponent with a score of 6:3, 6:1 in 1 hour and 17 minutes.

The match began with Svitolina losing her serve, but she immediately performed a return break and leveled the score. In the first set, the Ukrainian managed to "break" her opponent's serve twice and win with a score of 6:3.
The second set went even more confidently for Svitolina. After several initial breaks, the Ukrainian took the lead and did not allow Grachova to win a single game, ending the match with a crushing score of 6:1.
