Russian Missile and Drone Attack Cuts Power to Significant Number of Consumers
During the night and morning of December 27, Russian troops launched a massive strike on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, leaving consumers in Kyiv, Kyiv Region, and Chernihiv Region without electricity.
Attack Consequences
- Significant number of consumers in the capital and region left without power
- Energy facilities damaged in various regions
- Almost a third of Kyiv left without heating
According to Ukrenergo, the enemy attack is currently ongoing. Emergency recovery work will begin as soon as the security situation allows.
Electricity Supply Schedules
Due to equipment damage in Kyiv, emergency shutdowns have been implemented. Previously published hourly disconnection schedules are currently not in effect. Ukrenergo advises consumers to check current information on official regional energy company pages in their regions.
Due to constant Russian attacks, most regions of Ukraine have introduced forced electricity consumption restrictions: power limitation schedules for industry and business, as well as hourly disconnections for all consumer categories.
