In the 15th round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL), the team LNZ from Cherkasy achieved an impressive victory over "Obolon" with a score of 3:0. This victory allowed the Cherkasy team to earn 32 points and take first place in the standings, pushing down the team "Shakhtar", which currently has the same number of points but falls short on head-to-head criteria.
The head coach of LNZ, Vitaliy Ponomaryov, commented after the match that the score 3:0 does not fully reflect the reality on the field. "Of course, we are pleased that we won. However, the match was difficult, and we tried not to rely on one player," he emphasized, speaking about the absence of key player Mark Assinor. The coach highlighted the importance of teamwork and the equivalence of players in all positions.
The match started for LNZ with a goal from Denys Kuzyk in the 37th minute. In the second half, the hosts continued to dominate: in the 77th minute, Shota Nonikashvili doubled the advantage, and in the 84th minute, Mukharrem Yashari became the author of the third goal.
In the next match of the 16th round, LNZ will host the team "Zorya", with the kickoff scheduled for 15:30 on Saturday, December 13.
