Ihor Kostiuk has officially become the head coach of the Kyiv football club Dynamo. This was announced by the club president, Ihor Surkis, in a statement published on the team's official website.

Prior to this appointment, Kostiuk was serving as the acting head coach. He took charge of the team following the dismissal of Oleksandr Shovkovskyi at the end of November 2025. During this time, Ihor achieved several important results, including victories over Kudrivka (2-1) and Veres (3-0). However, the team also faced several defeats, including losses to Poltava and Fiorentina in the Conference League.

Kostiuk: Experience and Faith in Youth

Ihor Surkis emphasized that Kostiuk has been working within the club's structure for many years. He has nurtured not one, but several generations of young footballers who are now competing at the highest level in Europe. He noted the talent of the newly appointed coach and his ability to trust young players.

"Ihor Volodymyrovych is a talented coach who knows the Dynamo youth well. He proved his professionalism during an extremely challenging period for the team," said Surkis. According to him, the club's management fully trusts Kostiuk.

Tasks for the New Coach

After the winter break, Dynamo is preparing to resume its performances in the Ukrainian Football Championship in February against Lviv’s Rukh. In addition, the team will conclude its performances in the Conference League with a match against the Armenian club Noah on December 18.

Currently, Dynamo holds the fourth position in the Ukrainian Premier League table with 26 points. The main task for Kostiuk is to improve the team's results and bring Dynamo back to the top of both national and European football.
