The head coach of the French club "Lyon," Paulo Fonseca, shared his team's ambitions ahead of the fifth round match of the Europa League against Israeli "Maccabi" Tel Aviv. The renowned specialist, who previously led Donetsk's "Shakhtar" from 2016 to 2019, intends to win the title in the tournament this season.
In his statement, Fonseca expressed confidence in "Lyon's" chances for success. "I disagree with those who talk about a difficult period. We haven't won the last five matches, but context is important: red cards, injuries, and player suspensions," emphasized the coach. He added that the team played tough matches, including against "PSG," where there were young and talented players.
Fonseca noted that despite the need for improvement, "Lyon" has already achieved a lot. "We must continue our path to achieve the best results. I believe we can reach the final of the Europa League and win, although I don't want to make any predictions," he stressed.
