Today, December 7, hourly electricity outage schedules have been introduced in all regions of Ukraine due to the consequences of massive missile and drone attacks carried out by the Russian Federation. This was reported by regional energy companies and the company "DTEK".

Outage Schedules by Regions

In Kyiv and the region, power outages will occur according to special schedules characterized by extended outage durations. For example, in Kyiv region, step-by-step outages may occur today to reduce the load on the energy system.

Power outage schedules in other regions include:

  • Odesa Region: outages are planned during morning and evening hours.
  • Mykolaiv Region: outage periods, for example, 1.1 – from 00:00 to 03:00 and from 17:00 to 22:30.
  • Kharkiv Region: outages will begin at 04:00 and last until 21:30.
  • Zaporizhzhia Region: planned outages will include various stages throughout the day.

Why are Outages Being Introduced?

These actions are necessitated by the need to maintain the stability of Ukraine's energy system after recent attacks on energy facilities that occurred the day before. The head of the board of "Ukrenergo," Vitaliy Zaychenko, noted that the situation will remain difficult, and improvements will take weeks instead of days.

“Unfortunately, due to the attacks, the duration of outages has increased, and we are not talking about 4-8 hours, but, unfortunately, about 12-16," he emphasized.

Conclusions

To improve the situation, it is crucial for consumers to reduce their electricity consumption and support energy workers in their efforts. This is especially relevant on sunny days, when solar energy from solar panels can be used, which helps the energy system.

The energy situation remains challenging, and measures will be taken to improve Ukraine's energy supply in the future.
