In the 18th round of the Spanish football championship, Celta confidently defeated Valencia 4:1 at their home stadium Balaidos.
The match began with an unexpected moment when Valencia's player Pepelu missed a penalty kick, hitting the goalpost. Instead, Celta's footballer Iglesias scored two goals in the 33rd and 59th minutes, effectively deciding the match's outcome.
Pepelu managed to score a goal in the 70th minute, reducing the gap to a minimum, but El-Abdellaui in the 83rd minute and Alvarez in the fifth added minute set the final score of 4:1.
Thanks to the victory, Celta rose to seventh place in the La Liga standings, gaining 26 points. Valencia remains in 17th place with 16 points and finds itself in the relegation zone.
