An important week of European cups has come to an end, bringing significant changes to the UEFA coefficient table. After the 6th round of the Champions League and the Europa League, as well as the 5th round of the Conference League, Ukraine remains in 25th place in the five-year ranking.
The team "Shakhtar," under the guidance of Arda Turan, confidently defeated "Hamrun Spartans" with a score of 2:0 in Malta, securing a spot in the Conference League playoffs for the "miners." This success also brought important bonuses for Ukraine in the coefficient table, allowing the country to lead among competitors in this season's standings. Overall, Ukraine currently has 5.656 points, ranking 15th in the current season.
The situation with Dynamo
Unfortunately, Kyiv's "Dynamo" suffered a defeat in the match against the Italian "Fiorentina" with a score of 2:1, losing the chance to break into the top 24. The last match against "Noah" from Armenia will be a formality for the white-blues.
Prospects for Ukrainian clubs
It is important to note that "Shakhtar," having risen to 47th place in the UEFA club ranking, already has a significant contribution to the country's overall score. If Ukraine can climb to 22nd place by the end of the season, the UPL winner in the Euro season 2027/28 will start qualifying from the second round of the Champions League.
Competition on the European stage
As a result of the current season, Ukraine is ahead of countries such as Azerbaijan (22.250), Slovenia (22.218), and Slovakia (21.875). At the moment, the higher positions among countries are held by Croatia (25.375), Hungary (25.187), Romania (25.000), and Serbia (23.875).
Let us hope that "Shakhtar" and other Ukrainian clubs will continue to bring positive results for the country in European cups.
