Acting head coach of Kyiv's "Dynamo," Igor Kostyuk, held a press conference after the home match of the 14th round of the Ukrainian Premier League season 2025/26 against "Poltava." It should be noted that the match ended in a 1:2 defeat for the Kyiv team at the Valeriy Lobanovskyi Dynamo Stadium.
Kostyuk, commenting on the game, mentioned the tragic event: "Unfortunately, today a tragic event occurred – our illustrious player, the esteemed official Volodymyr Fedorovych Muntyan passed away. May his memory be eternal… He always called me first on my birthday and said: 'Igoryok, only great people are born on this day.' I replied to him: 'Fedorovych, you are definitely a great person.' May his memory be eternal. He will always remain in our hearts."
Post-Match Comments
During the press conference, Kostyuk also commented on several important moments of the match. "At halftime, we emphasized that we needed to transition to attacks more quickly and not allow the moments that the opposing team created. The concentration in defense needed to be greater," the coach noted.
He also spoke about the debut of Bohdan Redushko: "He delivered a cross after which Yatsyk scored a goal. I’m glad he debuted and showed that he can perform well." It’s worth noting that "Dynamo" has set a new anti-record, losing four matches in a row in Ukraine.
Team Status
Kostyuk remarked that the team is in a depressed state after the game: "We hope that we will unite and create an atmosphere where the guys can lift their heads. We have a little time to physically prepare for the next game." Currently, "Dynamo" occupies the seventh place in the UPL table with 20 points.
The Kyiv club has four matches left until the end of 2025, including encounters against "Kudrivka" and "Veres" in the UPL, as well as with Italian "Fiorentina" and Armenian "Noah" in the main round of the Conference League.
