Acting head coach of FC Dynamo (Kyiv) Igor Kostyuk held a press conference after the home match against the team Poltava, in which he discussed both the game and the difficult times for the team. Unfortunately, today there was an important and sad announcement – Volodymyr Fedorovych Muntyan, a legendary player and club official, has passed away. Kostyuk expressed his condolences, stating: “Light memory to him… He always congratulated me on my birthday, reminding me that we were born on the same day with a difference of 29 years.” He also emphasized that Muntyan will remain in the hearts of all the players of the football team.
After the match, in which Dynamo lost 1:2, Kostyuk shared his thoughts on the game. He noted: “The team is in a depressed state after the game. Everyone is upset. We hope we will unite and create an atmosphere that will allow the guys to lift their heads.” The coach also emphasized that in this game, the team was not focused enough in defense and lacked freshness in attack.
Commenting on the absence of some players in the match roster, Kostyuk explained that Shaparenko was not fully ready, and Shola had sustained an injury in training. He also highlighted the debut of young player Bohdan Redushka, who delivered a decisive cross after which Yatsyk scored the only goal for Dynamo in this match. “I am glad that he debuted. Despite his young age, he did not hold back,” Kostyuk said about the debutant.
From all observations, it is clear that the team intends to work on improving their results before the upcoming games. “We have time to sharpen our physical preparation for the next matches,” the coach added.
