There has been a significant change in the management of Dynamo Kyiv — Ihor Kostiuk, who previously coached the U-19 team, has become the acting head coach instead of Oleksandr Shovkovskiy. This change opens up new opportunities for young talents who previously may not have had a chance in the first team.
New faces in Dynamo's first team
Under Kostiuk’s leadership, there are several players from the U-19 team that he is considering integrating into the first team. Among these young talents are:
- Vladyslav Zakharchenko — a central defender known for his technique and creativity on the field. Despite his lack of experience in senior football, Zakharchenko has already had the opportunity to play in Kostiuk’s tactical schemes.
- Bohdan Redushko — a left winger who actively shows himself in the youth championship, demonstrating not only his ability to score but also to participate in building up attacks.
- Matviy Ponomarenko — the top scorer in U-19 history, who has every chance of becoming the main striker of the team. Kostiuk has already shown trust in him during key matches of the youth team.
Tasks for Ihor Kostiuk
In his new role, Kostiuk will face several important tasks:
- Integrate young players into the first team to raise the level of competition.
- Restart the careers of certain players, such as Samba Diallo and Konstantin Vyvcharenko, who have great potential.
- Restructure the team to reduce reliance on experienced players like Andriy Yarmolenko and Vitaliy Buyalskyi.
- Implement changes in the club's academy and find new coaches for the U-19 team to nurture players who meet the requirements of the senior team.
Kostiuk emphasizes that it is currently important not only to achieve immediate results but, above all, to create a competitive team capable of performing at the European level.
Experts believe that the changes initiated by Ihor Kostiuk could significantly improve the situation at Dynamo Kyiv, provided he successfully realizes his potential.
