The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) reported a successful overnight strike on the Russian Khanskaya military airfield in the Republic of Adygea. The target is located approximately 500 kilometers from Ukraine.

According to the SBU, the strike was carried out using drones operated by the Alpha Special Operations Center. The attack reportedly hit two Russian combat aircraft:

  • Su-35 — a multirole fighter considered one of the most advanced combat aircraft in Russia's arsenal. Its export value is estimated at approximately $100 million.
  • Su-34 — a fighter-bomber extensively used by Russian tactical aviation. Its export value is estimated at around $50 million.

In addition to the aircraft, an ammunition depot located at the military airfield was also reportedly struck.

Both aircraft types are capable of deploying guided aerial bombs, commonly known as KABs, which Russian forces have extensively used to strike Ukrainian Defense Forces positions and populated areas.

The SBU says its strikes against military infrastructure inside Russia are aimed at reducing the capabilities of Russian aviation and other forces to conduct military operations against Ukraine.
