In Ukraine on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 10 and 11, 2026, the schedules for power outages will once again become stricter. This was reported by Ukrainian Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal on his Telegram channel. The reasons for this are the drop in temperature and increased load on the energy system.
According to Shmyhal, low temperatures increase electricity consumption, creating an additional burden on the entire energy system of the country. "The situation will remain challenging, despite the fact that repair work at generation and distribution facilities is ongoing around the clock," the minister added.
Priority in supply
Critically important facilities, such as hospitals, water utilities, and social institutions, remain a priority for electricity supply. Shmyhal noted that other institutions may be switched to autonomous power using generators, which will free up more electricity for household consumers.
Control and equality
The government is also reviewing the list of critical infrastructure facilities. Shmyhal emphasized that the state will strengthen control to ensure that the conditions for electricity distribution for all consumers are equal. "This week, the outage schedules will be strict; Tuesday and Wednesday will be challenging," the minister noted.
The situation in Ukraine's energy sector is deteriorating due to continuous attacks on energy facilities by Russian terrorists, causing electricity and heating access problems in many regions.
Consumers should be prepared for possible power outages this week and should monitor official announcements from energy companies.
