A member of the board of NEC Ukrenergo, Oleksiy Brekht, tragically died while personally managing the restoration of damaged energy facilities after enemy attacks.
Circumstances of Death
According to People's Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko, the 47-year-old Brekht died from an electric shock at an Ukrenergo substation. He was at the site of the energy system damage, trying to restore electricity as quickly as possible.
Professional Path
Oleksiy Brekht dedicated over 24 years to work at Ukrenergo. After graduating from Sikorsky KPI with a specialty in Electric Stations, he rose from dispatcher to manager.

The Ministry of Energy emphasized Brekht's exceptional role in ensuring the stability of the Ukrainian energy system during a critical period of war.
"His contribution to the stability of the united energy system of Ukraine is hard to overestimate," the Ministry of Energy noted.
